Mobile Hearing Testing FAQs

Mobile Hearing Testing FAQs

All information is general in nature and should not be considered legal advice.

  • What areas do you serve?

Anadyne serves customers across the United States. Remoteness of location can be an impact - reach out to one of our specialists for more information.

Many of our customers need hearing tests in a different area than their headquarters, and we deliver the insight and expertise of a local provider.

Oregon & Washington are our specialities - we've been working in their unique OSHA requirements for decades. However, we're flexible - give us a call and we'll see what we can work out!

  • What are your onsite hearing testing options?

We have many options available. Most of our clients enjoy our streamlined Quanta system, while some use other options. Everything we have is fully customizable to your needs - reach out to our specialists to learn more.

  • How many employees should receive a hearing test at a time?

Many large employers enjoy the use of their own in-house test facility, and all the benefits that testing 1 employee at a time brings. This is popular and desirable, and Anadyne can in-source this experience for employers of any size.

We have several options available - reach out to our specialists for more information!

  • What happens during a hearing test appointment?

Your employees will be presented with tones of different pitch and volume, and be asked to respond each time they hear them. This is done one ear at a time, and the same hand can be used to respond for either ear.

Employees will be asked to provide information about current and historic hearing health, and of course, equipment is cleaned between users.

Some events also allow for looking inside the test subject's ear, as well as immediate retesting should an STS occur. Reach out to learn more!

  • Do you have clinic hearing testing options?

Anadyne coordinates with hearing testing clinics across the United States, as well as offering hearing testing appointments in our office. If you have employees that need retests, make-up tests, or baseline tests, reach out to see how we can best accommodate your needs.

  • What do I need to provide before a hearing testing event?

In order to set up an employer's database, historic data (if it exists) needs to be provided, as well as a comprehensive list of the employee's demographics. Our account specialists are available to coordinate - get in touch with them here!

If you are scheduling a routine hearing testing event, our scheduling team will be in touch to let you know what next steps will be.

  • Does the hearing testing room need to be soundproof?

OSHA does not require the boothless testing room to be "soundproof".

Obviously, there are technical guidelines which our specialists can speak to on request.

Our hearing experts will come out and assess the sound levels of the provided room to ensure that everything is optimized for the hearing testing event.

  • Does everyone need a hearing test?

    Federal OSHA regulations state:

"The employer shall establish and maintain an audiometric testing program as provided in this paragraph by making audiometric testing available to all employees whose exposures equal or exceed an 8-hour time-weighted average of 85 decibels"

However, Anadyne offers Wellness services if you would like to provide hearing testing as an employee benefit - if you also have a hearing conservation program, it's important to manage these records separately.

  • What about hearing tests for employees not exposed to loud noise?

This is an excellent way to benefit the hearing health of your employees. Anadyne offers services to ensure these records are managed correctly - get in touch & learn more.
